The Broadway House Itself: 41 Theatres, the Five Demolished in 1982, and the Landmark Law That Followed

Broadway is a count before it is a place: 41 houses. Five theatres were demolished in 1982 to build a hotel. The fight over those five is why most of the surviving 41 are now protected by law.

Dynamic pricing charges for the decision, not the seat

A decade after Hamilton put an $849 chair in the Richard Rodgers, we went through the 74 weeks of grosses in this magazine's Ledger looking for the great surge. The average ticket is slightly cheaper than when the file opens. What actually rose is the ceiling, the holiday week, and the price of deciding late, which is a different tax than the one everybody argues about.
