The Morning Call

2026-10-30

Friday, October 30, 2026

The Morning Call carries the openings, closings and dates that matter today, and stops when it has said them.

1. A Few Good Men is open.

Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men opened last night, Thursday, October 29, at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater. Tom Blyth plays Lt. Daniel Kaffee, Bradley Whitford plays Col. Nathan Jessep, and Michael Arden directs. The limited run ends January 10, 2027, and the digital lottery is $49.

2. Phantom's Las Vegas run ends Sunday.

The Phantom of the Opera plays its final Las Vegas performances this weekend at the Smith Center, where the run ends Sunday, November 1. Cameron Mackintosh's touring production has played Reynolds Hall since October 21. After Sunday the production travels on. Las Vegas was one stop, and the stop is over.

3. School Girls has two weeks and two days left.

School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play closes Sunday, November 15, at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Jocelyn Bioh's comedy, directed by Whitney White, opened September 28 and runs 80 minutes with no intermission. Manhattan Theatre Club produces. When it closes, the Friedman is dark until Awake and Sing! in December.

4. Two Strangers sets its closing, and its tour.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will play its final Broadway performance on Sunday, November 29, at the Longacre Theatre. Sam Tutty and Christiani Pitts star. At closing the production will have played 21 previews and 428 performances. A first national tour launches in Providence, Rhode Island, in fall 2027.

5. Next in Las Vegas: The Book of Mormon at the Venetian.

The Book of Mormon opens at the Venetian Theatre on Wednesday, November 4, and plays through November 15. It follows Phantom into the city by three days, in a different building under a different presenter model: resort theatre, not the Smith Center. Two touring productions, two Las Vegas contracts, twelve days apart.
