Opened in 1913 and became the leading American vaudeville house, where playing the Palace was a career benchmark for variety performers. It later converted to movies and then returned to legitimate musicals in the 1960s. Beauty and the Beast was among its longest-running modern productions, and the house reopened in 2024 after a project that raised the building as part of the TSX Broadway development.
The house is in the Theater District, within walking distance of the Times Square-42nd Street subway and transit hub.
