Opened in 1906 as the Majestic Theatre, in what was then Chicago's tallest building and the city's first theatre built for more than one million dollars. It later operated as the Sam Shubert Theatre and under bank sponsor names before becoming the CIBC Theatre in 2017. Hamilton played an extended Chicago engagement in the house from 2016 to 2020.
