The Old Globe in San Diego seeks a full-time Draper/Tailor for its costume shop. The Draper/Tailor drapes, patterns, constructs, and alters costumes to designer specifications and production timelines, conducts fittings and adjusts for fit, comfort, and mobility, and supervises stitchers and costume shop artisans to keep work efficient and to a high standard, while helping maintain an organized, safe shop. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week, with overtime and weekend assignments. This is an IATSE Local 122 union position with vacation, pension, and union health benefits. Candidates need four to ten years of professional experience in theatrical costume construction; regional theatre or commercial costume shop experience and progressive supervisory experience are strongly preferred.
